Recently, I read an article on the damage done to the body and its internal organs if many hours a day are spent in a sitting position. To be honest, up until then, I wasn't aware of the extent to which a certain position can harm the entire body. Chronic back pain, poor posture, and some lethal diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity, can be the result of spending too much time in a chair or even a couch. On the other hand, if one adopts different working positions, like standing or getting up every now and then, more blood and oxygen flows through the brain, which actually results in a better state of mind. As a result, tasks should also be easier to complete than before, and you will be doing yourself a favor by saving money spent on frequent doctor visits; crmaris also notes that you should exercise at least half an hour a day after many hours in a chair if you can't afford a standing desk or just don't want one.
Experience
The height of a desk plays a significant role as well. After all, people aren't of the same height, which makes checking on the height-adjustable range of even an electric desk important. Standing comfortably should be the goal, so make sure to figure out the height at which you want to work prior to making such a purchase.
However, the Elite ZT is also a standing desk that can easily accommodate very tall users since it goes on top of an existing desk. Just use a higher desk if you need extra height. Moreover, since its height is flexible, it can be used by regular users as well, and in various working areas.
Capable of withstanding both the maximum weight and water spills, the MDF surface seems to be of good quality. It also looks to be fairly scratch resistant. The steel base is the heaviest part of the desk and keeps it in place while dealing with the increased weight well, and the motor is not that loud even when lifting its maximum specified weight.
Since the Elite ZT is designed to deal with monitors mostly, we decided to see if it can easily lift the weight of a medium-sized one. We put a 27" monitor that weighs almost 6.80 kg (14.99lb) on top and didn't run into the slightest problem. We also sought to check out the table's stability when fully extended, as well as the motor's ability to lift the stated 41 kg (90.38 lb), and used 40 kg (88.18 lb) fitness weights. Such a high payload briefly looked as though it was too much. However, it lifted its maximum load without breaking a sweat and easily reached the maximum height. That said, constantly running it with such a load surely puts a lot of stress on it, which would affect its longevity eventually, so you had better not use the desk to lift fitness weights!
The provided warranty plays a significant role and often reveals the product's build quality, and the faith the manufacturer puts into its reliability. With the Elite ZT, the two years warranty only covers the motor, which seems fair. While this product has some electrical parts, none are overly complicated, so we believe these will easily outlive the warranty. However, given the whole construction seems solid, the two-year warranty looks low. We also couldn't find replacement parts on the official website should something break down, which, considering the high price, is a bummer.
