Dimensions
AQIRYS followed a well-executed recipe by using a sports bucket-seat design for this chairs. The contoured edges and cutouts where the headrest cushion straps go through make for the gaming looks. The Calypso is EN 1335-1:2021 and EN 1335-2:2019 certified, making it a suitable candidate for office spaces.
The backrest is 88 cm (34.64 in.) tall and 51 cm (20.08 in.) wide at the shoulders, with an inner width of 26 cm (10.23 in.). The base of the seat is also broad, with the outer surface 58 cm (22.83 in.) and inner surface 40 cm (15.74 in.). The seat is 55 cm (21.65 in.) deep; however, overall available space decreases slightly with the backrest attached. Additionally, the contoured edges on both the backrest and seat are tall enough not to allow the entire area of both to be used.
Most chairs for large users tend to have hard cushioning because it keeps its shape longer and is more comfortable by providing better support. I find the Calypso to be somewhere in between as far as the cushioning is concerned. I find it firm enough but comfortable because I am a fan of soft-cushioned chairs.
Adjustments
The Calypso has the standard ergonomics features expected of gaming chairs. A lever under the right side of the seat adjusts the height from 132 to 142 cm (51.96–55.90 in.).
On its other side, another lever locks and unlocks the rocking mechanism, with the ability to tilt up to 11° or even lock the backrest's position at a certain angle.
We can adjust the resistance of the rocking mechanism with a knob under the front of the seat.
Another lever with a grip on the right side of the seat adjusts the recline of the backrest, which ranges from 90° to 155°.
