The fan ports (and monitoring duties) are cared for by the Nuvoton Super I/O chip above. ASRock has one of the better BIOS fan-control implementations for their boards. Inside the BIOS, you'll find the option to tune each fan port to the exact fan plugged into it, offering customized unified fan profiling no matter what fan you choose to use. Fully automatic and dynamic options you'll find anywhere else are present as well, so whether you want to tweak every little bit of that fan curve or just let the board do its own thing, you'll find what you want in the ASRock X299 PROFESSIONAL GAMING i9 XE's BIOS. There are two ports that support configuration options to push waterpumps (one for the CPU headers and another for the CHASSIS headers); however, it is worth noting that the maximum power output each supports in this mode is 18W.
