Fan Control and Options

Fan speed is controlled by temperature, actual minimums dependent on fan ability.


The A-Tuning software utility offers a plethora of fan-tuning options with customizable fan curves. BIOS fan control is much less user friendly, but does allow for more control options, including the selection of either PWM or DC for each header. Fan control on the ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate is handled by a Nuvoton NCT6779D-R chip.


The ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate has a total of five fan headers, mostly concentrated around the top half of the board. The first one is on the top left, next to the CPU power connectors, the next two are nestled together at the top right, between the heatsink and DIMM slots. The fourth is located on the right edge of the board, near the middle, with the last one along the bottom edge of the board in the middle.
