Storage Performance
The ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 7 has a good compliment of storage options, including two M.2 slots and eight SATA 6 Gb/s ports. Two of those SATA ports are controlled by an ASMedia ASM1061 controller. There is an additional ASMedia ASM1074 hub to add two more internal USB 3.1 Gen1 headers.
The ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 7 performed below average in my storage tests, particularly with SATA and NVMe testing. Hopefully, ASRock can remedy this quickly with BIOS updates.
