Final Thoughts and Conclusion

  • The ASRock Z590 Steel Legend WiFi 6E is available for US$209.99.
  • Good VRM thermals
  • Good overclocking
  • Attractive aesthetics
  • No Dual LAN
  • Only two PCIe x16 slots
The ASRock Z590 Steel Legend WiFi 6E is an attractive motherboard with a solid feature set. The black, gray, silver, and white theme sounds busy on paper, but comes together well with other components. The RGB LEDs are bright and have good diffusion, continuing ASRock's trend of providing great RGB implementations. Additionally, ASRock's new graphics card holder is a genuinely practical inclusion that solves the increasingly common problem of GPU sag.

Out of the box, performance was great for the ASRock Z590 Steel Legend WiFi 6E. Memory overclocking was good as well, as I reached 3900 MHz CL16 stable with my Trident Z Neo kit. For CPU overclocking, I was able to achieve 5.3 GHz on all cores. The largest limitation to overclocking with Z590 came down to dealing with the heat produced by the incredibly dense Intel Core i9-10900K. VRM thermals were excellent as well, peaking at just 76 °C during my VRM torture testing.

The ASRock Z590 Steel Legend WiFi 6E offers all of the necessities in an attractive and affordable package, with some extra flair and practicality thrown in for good measure. If you are in the market for a mid-range Z590 motherboard and don't need dual LAN or 3 PCIe x16 slots, the ASRock Z590 Steel Legend WiFi 6E is a great pick for the price.
