Introduction
The ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX 6750 XT O12G is the company's most premium custom-design imagining of the new kid on the performance-segment block—the Radeon RX 6750 XT. AMD is giving gamers three new choices this Summer, as graphics card prices are cooling down: the RX 6950 XT at the high-end, RX 6750 XT in the performance segment, and RX 6650 XT in the mid-range. The three are enhancements over the RX 6900 XT, RX 6700 XT, and RX 6600 XT respectively, and essentially what those cards would be had AMD launched them in 2022.
The Radeon RX 6750 XT is based on the same RDNA 2 graphics architecture as the RX 6700 XT. Even the underlying "Navi 22" silicon is built on the same 7 nm process. AMD innovated in three key areas—GPU clocks, memory, and software. AMD increased the GPU clocks for the RX 6750 XT to 2495 MHz game clocks, up from 2424 MHz on the RX 6700 XT. ASUS has further pushed the envelope to 2554 MHz game clocks as part of its factory-overclock.
AMD dialed up memory speeds to 18 Gbps, up from 16 Gbps on the older card. This 12.5% increase in memory speeds means the GPU now enjoys 432 GB/s of memory bandwidth, compared to 384 GB/s on the RX 6700 XT—almost on par with the 448 GB/s of the competing GeForce RTX 3070. You get 12 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 192-bit wide memory interface, which seems narrow in comparison to the 256-bit wide one of the RTX 3070, which AMD attempted to make up for with higher memory speeds (18 Gbps vs. 14 Gbps) and 96 MB of fast on-die memory it calls Infinity Cache—it accelerates the memory sub-system. Software-level enhancements seem to target several games and also improve performance in CPU-limited games.
The Radeon RX 6750 XT maxes out the Navi 22 silicon, featuring 2,560 stream processors across 40 RDNA 2 compute units with 40 Ray Accelerators, 160 TMUs, and 64 ROPs. As a result of the increase in GPU clocks, the typical board power is now at 250 W, compared to 230 W of its older sibling.
The ASUS ROG Strix RX 6750 XT OC looks like every other ROG Strix graphics card from this generation with its swanky two-tone metallic design for the cooler shroud, a compound aluminium fin-stack heatsink, and three Axial-Tech fans. Besides the factory-overclock we mentioned, gamers get plenty of addressable RGB bling and fan headers that let you synchronize case cooling with the graphics card fans. ASUS is pricing the card at $630, a significant premium over the $550 baseline pricing for this SKU.
