Shape

By now, it seems to be a tradition for every new release in the Strix Impact series to have a completely different shape than its predecessor. The Strix Impact II already didn't have much in common with the Strix Impact I, and the Strix Impact III likewise has little in common with either. Most notably, with every new release, the shape departs further from the "egg" archetype the original Strix Impact (also known as Sica) still largely adhered to. The Strix Impact III is much longer, and the hump has moved a bit further to the back, too. In terms of curvature, the hump is still similarly rounded, but the rear is slightly skinnier and tapers off, whereas the Strix Impact II had a much bulkier and wider rear, which quite literally cut off there. The sides now constitute this silhouette: \ /, whereas the Strix Impact II was like this: ( ), which has the Strix Impact III be wider at the top than at the bottom. In addition, the main buttons extended across the entire width on the Strix Impact II, whereas the Strix Impact III has them framed by small ledges to the left and right. The main buttons have subtle comfort grooves, and sit a bit lower than they did on the Strix Impact II. As a result of all of these changes, the Strix Impact III feels very different in hand, though taken on its own, the shape works just fine.

As for grip styles, I'd say the Strix Impact III is mostly suited for claw grip. It is a medium-sized mouse with a moderately pronounced hump, so it should fit most hand sizes. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the Strix Impact III very comfortable in claw grip.

Dimensions

This table includes the dimensions of the Strix Impact III and several other ambidextrous mice. "Front height" denotes the distance between the base and main buttons. Measurements with two decimals have been taken with a caliper, while those with one decimal have been taken with a ruler. For a full list of all measurements taken, please refer to this sheet compiled by an esteemed community member.
