CPU - Intel Core i9-12900K

The only element without TUF branding from the set required to build a TUF-branded gaming rig is the CPU. We asked Intel for a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 and were expecting a small box. Instead, we were once again shipped one of their 12th Gen press kits. The package consists of a black cardboard box with Intel branding on the top that is flipped open to reveal more than simply a processor.


Inside is an an illustration of the CPU die, and a little stand you may put it on has been included, too.


Underneath are not one but two CPUs. The press kit includes an Intel Core i5-12600K and Intel Core i9-12900K. We will use the former for our case review rigs for the foreseeable future, but the Intel Core i9-12900K will find a home inside the TUF build.


There is nothing to be said about the CPU that is not already known, especially as we have covered it in depth on its own, and its utilization in various scenarios across five additional articles.
