Application Central

Providing NAS users with enough applications to cover a ton of different needs, App Central is a mainstay feature of ADM. Users can browse through all applications to only install those they want with one click of the mouse. Many applications here are by third-party developers, but those developed by Asustor include Download Center, Surveillance Center, UPnP Media Server, iTunes Server, FTP Explorer, and SoundsGood. We will take a look at all of the above later on in this review.


Before you begin downloading applications via the App Central, you have to register and log in with a valid Asustor ID, which Asustor provides free of charge.


All newly installed applications will immediately be available after their installation has finished, and their icons will also appear on ADM's desktop.


Some applications (e.g. XBMC, SoundsGood, etc.) require Media Mode to work properly or even be installed.


Once you remove an application, all settings and any information regarding it will also be removed, which is about the same as with a normal PC.
