Performance Rating

The following graph shows the total performance rating of the NAS, comparing it to other units we have tested in the past. The comparison is pretty straight forward as the tested unit is shown as 100% and every other unit's performance is relative to it. Please note that we only measure the raw performance in the graph below and none of the available features and their functionality.

Performance per Dollar

The following graph will probably be the most interesting graph to most of you since it shows how much the performance of the NAS you want to buy will set you back. We looked up the current USD price of each NAS on the popular online shop Newegg and used it and all relative performance numbers to calculate the performance-per-dollar index. In case Newegg doesn’t have a specific unit in stock, we search for it at other popular online shops (Tigerdirect or Amazon), and, if the unit is not sold in the U.S., other popular EU shops (e.g. Caseking), converting its price to dollars.
