Shape

The shape of the Hydrogen is unique, to where finding something to draw comparisons to becomes a surprisingly difficult task. While the front with its very pronounced flares is reminiscent of Razer designs such as the DeathAdder, the rounded rear is somewhat similar to the Cooler Master MM710/711, albeit without the flares at the back. The hump is positioned towards the back, but doesn't slope down as much towards the front. Despite not flaring out much, the back is rounded and bulky, filling out the palm quite effectively. The sides are curved in horizontally but straight vertically. Since both the side grooves and side buttons are positioned more towards the front, it becomes clear that the Hydrogen is designed to be gripped in such a way that the palm sits flush with the rear, either by claw or palm gripping. Those with shorter hands will inevitably be relegated to the latter grip style. The main buttons feature subtle comfort grooves. While the sides are hole-free, pentagon-shaped holes are spread across the rear and bottom of the mouse. Even though the shape took me some getting used to, it grew on me eventually after time spent using the Hydrogen.

As for grip styles, I'd say the Hydrogen mostly suits claw and palm grip. It is a medium to large mouse with a fairly pronounced hump, which should make it generally suit medium-sized and large hands. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the Hydrogen comfortable in claw grip.

Dimensions

This table includes the dimensions of the Atompalm Hydrogen and several other ambidextrous mice. "Front height" denotes the distance between the base and main buttons. Measurements with two decimals have been taken with a caliper, while those with one decimal have been taken with a ruler.
