The Package

The Rapira ships in an unusually bright orange box sure to grab your attention.

Inside the box is a good little bundle. You get a driver CD, a manual, and a full spare set of mouse feet.

Closer Examination

As far as the shape goes, the Rapira Elite is pretty well off. Its general shape is very similar to the Mionix Naos and Func MS-1, which works extremely well if you prefer a palm-type grip. The buttons are also positioned well, possibly a bit better than on a Mionix or Func mouse for those with large hands.

Attitude One's design department definitely fancies curves. The Rapira Elite is a smooth-rounded affair with a soft-touch finish on all surfaces bar its buttons.

The top buttons are per default set to control the sensor's DPI setting, but they can be reassigned through the driver suite. The scroll wheel is definitely not one of the better ones we have tried recently. It lacks uniform tactile feedback while scrolling and its push-button function is also somewhat wobbly.

The cable design for the Rapira Elite is quite sturdy. The cable has a well-woven cable jacket, though it impairs performance somewhat due to its additional stiffness and weight.

Look at the bottom, and you will find that the sensor has been placed slightly south of the center. This makes the mouse a little odd to handle, but not extremely so. It effectively reduces the sensitivity of wrist-angle-specific changes, which I find very annoying as I move both arm and wrist to aim.
