If you saw my review of the Audeze LCD-2 Classic (2021 edition), you probably already knew this was on the way. I was not too pleased by the limitations of my current testing setup for those headphones, so much so that I have just procured a dedicated testing setup for headphones. I had mentioned as much to the Audeze PR rep and suggested we cover a set of IEMs in the interim. You might be thinking to yourself that those Audeze headphones are big and heavy because the planar magnetic drivers are huge, so how could they do something similar with in-ear monitors? Funnily enough, one of the first such attempts came in the form of the LCDi3, LCDi4, and the legacy iSINE series, all of which used relatively massive 30 mm drivers and were effectively on-ear headphones. There are also micro-planar driver IEMs from the likes of TinHiFi, but a sweet spot in the middle feels just right.

Clearly, Audeze agreed, with the recently released Euclid not only adopting a smaller size and being a true set of IEMs, but also the brands first closed-back earphones. There are so many novel things here, not only in terms of this being something new from Audeze, but in the IEM world as a whole. Using 18 mm planar magnetic transducers, the Euclid aims to bring you close to the over-ear, full-size planar driver experience. It also gets the typical Audeze tuning, so expect a fairly flat frequency response most of the way, but with the appreciable warm sound signature. Thanks to Audeze for providing TechPowerUp a review sample as we get ready to put the Euclid through its paces in this review that begins with a look at the product specifications in the table below.
