Boom Arm
The metal boom arm is equipped with a C-clamp system, so it can easily be attached to a table as long as it isn't thicker than 5 cm. Fully extended, it has a reach of around a meter.
The boom arm can easily be pivoted to the left or right and bent around two joints. Its third, top joint is where you'll attach the microphone, and you may then "fine-tune" its final position. You can have the microphone standing upward, hanging upside-down, or rotated to the side, and anything in between would work as well. The boom arm is very stiff and not all too pleasant to extend and retract, but at least the microphone will stay in place. Perhaps, it will loosen up over time, though it didn't over the two weeks I was using it.
Audio-Technica included four cable-management clips. These are easily attached to either side of the boom arm, which makes it very easy to tuck the USB cable away into the microphone. Nice!
Desktop Tripod Stand
The desktop tripod stand is the weakest link of the Audio-Technica Creator Pack. It's compact and fully foldable, but feels flimsy. Considering the ATR2500x-USB microphone sounds best when closer to the mouth than the desktop tripod stand allows, I strongly suggest you use the desktop stand only when using the microphone on the go. For home and office use, stick with the boom arm.
This is how the desktop tripod is folded.
