Closer Examination

The AVerMedia Live Gamer 4K 2.1 GC575 is covered from all sides with a gray metal case, that makes it look quite luxurious but also helps cool its internals.

The card communicates to the system via a PCI Express Gen 3 x4 interface. The front panel has a HDMI 2.1 input and HDMI 2.1 output. The HDMI 2.1 input is where you'll connect your source, such as your gaming PC or a console, and the output will go to your monitor. If you're using the same system for gaming and streaming, you can simply connect your graphics card's HDMI output to the capture card's input. Your system will think you connected a secondary monitor.

Like any other gaming product worth its salt, the AVerMedia Live Gamer 4K 2.1 GC575 sports a RGB lighting system. The RGB LEDs are covered with milky white plastic, which diffuses light and makes light transitions smooth and attractive. The colors and effects can of course be adjusted. This is done in the RGB Control section of the AVerMedia Gaming Utility, where you can select individual colors and/or effects, or leave it to supported third-party RGB lighting ecosystems: ASRock Polychrome Sync and MSI Mystic Light.

This is what the card looks like when installed in the system. It requires no extra power other than what it draws from the PCIe slot, so there's no extra cable clutter caused by power cables. Reducing cable clutter is one of the obvious benefits of using the Live Gamer 4K 2.1 GC575 over the external variant of AVerMedia's card.
