A Closer Look

be quiet!'s Dark Rock Pro 3 looks to be an extended version of the Dark Rock 3. The second tower provides a much bigger cooling area, and much like the Dark Rock 3, we see wave-contour, nickel-plated aluminum fins on this cooler, which certainly isn't a bad thing as the Dark Rock 3 was a very stylish cooler, and so is the much larger Dark Rock Pro 3.

Utilizing ninety aluminum fins and seven Ø6 mm heatpipes, this heavyweight cooler not only has an extra cooling tower compared to its little brother, but packs an additional heatpipe as well.

The heatpipes are arranged in a U-shape, with three heatpipes going up through the center of the two cooling towers and two heatpipes on its outer edges arranged vertically rather than horizontally. This heatpipe arrangement should transfer heat to those areas that will receive the greatest amount of airflow.

The base of the cooler looks to be very close to a mirror finish, which I am very happy to see. It is, again, these little details that show off the exceptional build quality be quiet! has established a reputation for.

The SilentWings fans be quiet! included with the Dark Rock Pro 3 measure 135 mm x 135 mm x 25 mm and 120 mm x 120 mm x 25 mm. Their model numbers are BQT T-12025-MR-PWM and BQ SIW3-13525-Mf-PWM. These fans make use of a unique airflow-optimized fan-blade design that reduces noise and turbulence while increasing airflow, and the fans each use a six-pole fan motor to operate as smoothly as possible.
