Installation

Install the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 by first putting the backplate into position, dropping the four long screws into place, and using the black C-clips to hold the screws in place.

The next step requires you to prepare the heatsink for mounting by first attaching the proper mounting arms. I attached the Intel mounting arms. With that out of the way, attach the four hexagonal nuts and their sleeves to the mounting arms. The cooler is now ready for mounting.

Apply the thermal paste and line the heatsink up with the four screws around the socket. Use the hexagonal spanner once you have to use a screwdriver to tighten the cooler down, which will secure the heatsink in place.

Just attach the fans to the CPU fan headers and you are good to go.

The mounting hardware be quiet! provides works, but is still a bit on the awkward side. Improvements definitely need to be made. Their current mounting system is awkward, especially compared to Noctua's or CRYORIG's solution. A better system will hopefully be implemented in the future.

I would rate the installation procedure for the average user a 7 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest).
