We have the pleasure of reviewing the be quiet! Silent Base 800 chassis today. With so many cases coming across our review station, it is always exciting to see a first-time offer from a brand. While most tend to set a deadline to rush something with a balance between function, value, quality, and quick delivery to market, be quiet! has taken more than 12 months to develop their first chassis. And instead of going all out by trying to re-invent the space, they have taken various functional, proven features and refined them to a point where those features are up to be quiet! standards.

Our goal was clear: Achieve the best cooling performance possible, at very low noise levels, while at the same time offering optimum space for easy installation of high-end components. The internal structure and, ultimately, the exterior design of the case has evolved from this objective. To ensure our engineers came up with as many innovative solutions as possible, we gave them these guiding principals:

The be quiet! Silent Baser 800 ships in a fully colored cardboard box with an image of the chassis on the front. In the back and on its sides are a lot of details about the enclosure. be quiet! also includes two carrying holes to make transporting it home easier.


Two thick Styrofoam spacers hold the chassis in place and a cloth bag protects it from scratches and finger prints. You will have to do some simple assembly before unwrapping this beast as the base of the Silent Base 800 is shipped alongside the chassis. Attaching it takes no tools, and they are also easily removable.
