Computex Taipei is one of the world's largest technology trade shows, held annually to showcase the latest innovations in computer hardware, electronics, and novel uses of emerging technologies. It serves as a global platform where leading companies unveil cutting-edge products and advancements, covering industries such as AI, gaming, and connectivity.
We first visited in 2006, so it's been almost twenty (!) years. This year, we flew six staff members to Taipei, to bring you our biggest coverage of the show so far. Computex was packed with exhibitors who brought their latest hardware to the show, targeting the DIY enthusiast and gaming PC markets. We've done a couple of things differently this year. First, we set up a dedicated page for our Computex reports, letting readers not just get the latest news as it happens, but also sort content by brands. Second, we created the TechPowerUp "Best of Computex" awards. Our team of on-ground reporters would identify the latest, and most innovative individual products, and grant them our Best of Computex 2025 Award, which includes a glass trophy that exhibitors can place in their booths, next to their winning exhibits.
TechPowerUp Best of Computex 2025 awards are granted to products that raise the bar with innovation, quality, design, and desirability—a well-rounded piece of hardware that could very well be your next pick. This time, we made a conscious effort not to award products by category of hardware, but rather any hardware that met our criteria. This approach allowed us to pick multiple products in a given category, which would especially help categories experiencing the most innovation this year, as opposed to those that are seeing incremental improvements in design and function. We will hence name our winners in alphabetical order.

ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition
ASUS collaborated with air-cooling experts Noctua to great effect over the years, and the previous-gen RTX 4080 Noctua Edition blew us away with whisper quiet noise levels and cooling performance. The two companies hope to repeat that magic with the new GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition.
Unlike with the previous generation, both brands appear to have made the effort to make sure the product doesn't look like an ASUS card with an aftermarket Noctua cooler, but a cohesive product that's been co-engineered by the two. This new generation Noctua cooler implements the latest heatsink design from Noctua, paired with its cutting edge fan technology. We expect this to be the quietest air-cooled RTX 5080, and one of the best performing ones out of the box, with Noctua's cooling heft giving the RTX 5080 the best possible boost residency.

Gigabyte X870E AORUS Master X3D Ice
At Computex, Gigabyte unveiled its latest innovation for Socket AM5 motherboards, the Gigabyte X3D Turbo Mode 2. This is a performance enhancement that works at the UEFI firmware level to enhance the performance of Ryzen 7000X3D and Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs, which should particularly benefit high core-count models, such as the Ryzen 9 9950X3D. Gigabyte claims that the feature can enhance gaming performance by up to 15%, and multithreaded application performance by up to 35%. X3D Turbo Mode 2 offers superior per-core boost frequency residency. Gigabyte says that this is an AI-based technology that analyzes user workload, then performs power/voltage-assisted CPU overclocking while keeping an eye on temperatures. At the show, Gigabyte launched a new range of AORUS Gaming motherboards with the feature, designated by "X3D" in the model name. They also sport various improvements for the tool-free M.2 slot, and 10G Ethernet is now a first-class citizen. Leading the range is the X870E AORUS Master X3D Ice, a feature-packed board designed to help you max out your 9950X3D for the best possible gaming performance you can have on desktop.
Another novelty is that Gigabyte now includes a Wi-Fi driver built in the BIOS, which makes it easier than before to get your newly built machine's connectivity up.
