Final Thoughts and Conclusion

  • The Biostar Hi-Fi Z97WE is available for around $105-$125.
  • Fantastically low price.
  • Packed with features you would expect from a much more expensive board
  • Excellent power consumption under stock and overclocked settings
  • Fully-featured BIOS and software package allow you to get the most out of your system
  • Incredible audio clarity and performance truly deserving of the Hi-Fi moniker
  • Wide-open BIOS ready for tweaking to the limit
  • Fully functional AMI UEFI BIOS that includes mouse functionality and support for 3 TB+ drives
  • No Thunderbolt or SATA Express or SLi Support
  • Tweaking the BIOS properly for maximum performance requires a fairly decent level of knowledge
  • Color scheme used may not appeal to all
Biostar, for me, has done it again. When comparing everything offered here to other options available on the market, there is literally no comparison once you consider the price. No, this is not the best performer out of the box, and yes, it does have some limitations, but what do you expect for just over $100? Myself, I expected a bit less than what I found here. Dual LAN, great audio, decent OC capabilities, including LN2 support? For $110 USD? Why would you buy anything else? Perhaps the color isn't to your liking.

There is not much more left to be said. Biostar has more than delivered with the Hi-Fi Z97WE. It is just that simple.
