Physical Teardown

To get the Biostar RACING P1 open required I remove the little rubber feet from the bottom of the unit. Doing so revealed a screw under each of the four feet, which were easily removed with a Philips screwdriver. Once the four screws are removed, you can pull the top off fairly easily. There is a bundle of wires that keeps the top attached to the bottom.

Once you disconnect the single LED wire, you can remove the board from the bottom half of the unit, but make sure to be ready to catch the power button that is sure to fall out when you do so. The board itself isn't all that interesting since the large blue thermal pad in the middle that helps by transferring heat from the cooler to the enclosure is pretty much all there is to see here.

There is some nice padding all around in various places, but since the PCB seems to have been squeezed into this metal tray and isn't attached to the tray with screws, I left it alone and simply put it all back together.
