Zalman
The CNPS9500 AT is one of Zalman's new CPU coolers for Socket LGA775. It features automatic fan control using the fan output of motherboards with Intel LGA775 CPUs. On all these motherboards the fan connector has not only three pins but extra pins that tell the fan how fast it should run. As additional safety feature the fan will always run at a certain minimum speed, even if the motherboard signals less than 30% fan speed.
The CNPS9700 LED is the new highest end CPU cooler and uses a 110 mm fan for maximum air flow. Included in the retail packaging is the FANMATE2 fan controller which enables fan noise and speed control. For additional bling blue LEDs have been added that light up the running fan.
Right next to the CPU cooler in the picture is a small blue heatsink. This is the new chipset cooler from Zalman. If you take a close look you will see that is uses the hook mounting of the motherboard but has an improved mounting mechanism.
For system integrators or users who don't need that much cooling performance is the CNPS8000. It uses a 92mm fan and can be very quiet. It is also coming with the FANMATE2 fan controller.
As videocard aftermarket cooler the VF900-Cu is built to take on the success of its predecessors. It uses two heatpipes with a rather quiet fan. If you look at the mounting it seems Zalman has changed something. I'm being told this makes a very secure connection and is universal for all video cards.
Users of watercooling are also getting new products. The ZM-WB4 Gold is an all improved waterblock design which uses a clear Lexan top now. It is a pure copper design with gold plating. The total weight is only 166g and it will fit all common CPU sockets available.
Watercooled video cards are also very popular. Here Zalman presents the ZM-GWB3 Gold. It also uses a gold plated copper base and weights a mere 72g. The memory block and the GPU block are two seperate parts so minor changes in PCB layout and component height can be handled easily.
The Zalman HD160 is a new Media PC case which lets you use full-size ATX cards but is still not as big as a regular case. With a weight of 4.8kg it is quiet light thanks to its full aluminum construction. At accepts fullsize ATX motherboards and full size ATX power supplies. The air vent on the top can be opened if you use a CPU cooler which blows to the top, otherwise you can close the top to create an air tunnel effect.
A nifty feature is that the airflow from the PSU is not going inside the case, so the inside will not be heated up by hot PSU air. The case will be available in black and silver.
A completely different approach to case design are the Fatal1ty cases. They are build for the needs of LAN party visitors, made from solid thick aluminum and can sure take some beating. Mmmm I like it, this look massive. Apart from the "Champion" here, Zalman hinted that there may be other lower end and midrange models available from this series.
Zalman has had power supplies for quite a while, their PSU line has received a makeover. Top of the line is now the Zalman Fatal1ty Champion which has an output of max. 600W via four independant 12V lines.
