Cooler Master GX 650W Bronze Review 2

Cooler Master GX 650W Bronze Review

A Look Inside »

Packaging

Black and orange colors dominate the compact size packaging. On the front there is a small photo of the unit and the series name (GX) along with the capacity (650W) and the efficiency (Bronze) are highlighted with large fonts. Using smaller white fonts we are informed that the PSU features a single rail, has up to 85% efficiency and is backed up by five years warranty. As usual on the rear side of the packaging we find more detailed information about the features and the specifications of the PSU.

Contents

The PSU is protected by bubble wrap but there is lots of void space in the box. We would like to see some packaging foam to cover this space. The bundle is poor and it includes the necessary AC power cord, a set of fixing bolts for chassis mounting and a user's manual. There is also a card for the warranty. For cable management purposes you have to buy some zip/Velcro ties since none are included.

Exterior

The PSU features a black coating. On one side we find the series and the capacity designations and on the other side there is a label with the power specifications. All cables are hardwired and fully sleeved back into the housing. Unfortunately around the cable exit hole there is no grommet, however the hole is big enough so the cables are not stressed by the edges. The fan guard utilizes a pretty weird (and ugly) design for its center section, which prevents the use of a badge so this area looks very empty, like something is missing.
