Value and Conclusion

  • The Cooler Master MasterBox TD300 Mesh should retail for around $99 excl. taxes.
  • Sturdy frame
  • Glass side panel
  • Good material mix
  • Two ARGB fans included
  • Built-in ARGB & fan hub
  • Good liquid-cooling support for such a compact case
  • Adequate storage capabilities
  • Tool-less storage assembly
  • Can easily hold 120 mm tower coolers
  • Magnetic dust filter on top included
  • 3-to-1 ARGB adapter cable included
  • Grommets on major cable-routing holes
  • Not enough mounting hardware for 4x 2.5" drives
  • Glass panel with four thumb screws on side panel
  • Dust filter on underside very basic
  • Still two break-out covers for expansion slots
The Cooler Master MasterBox TD300 Mesh may use the same body as the MB311L ARGB and NR400, but lands right between the two in terms of pushing the potential of the tooling. Cooler Master improved on the ARGB controller, which is now easily controllable with the reset button and also includes a PWM fan hub. On top of that, the grommets are back, which had been the case on the NR400 as well. That said, there are still a few cost-saving compromises, like the thumb screws holding the glass panel in place or that the bottom two expansion slots are still of the breakout kind.

We are still scratching our head as to why Cooler Master refuses to include enough parts for all four 2.5" drive positions to be used at the same time, as it would be a positive for the chassis and costs mere cents to add. At least now, as with many modern Cooler Master enclosures, you may remove the top panel for easier system assembly, which is certainly unique for a chassis of this size.

That brings us to pricing. All these functional additions around a modular top, internal PCB, and grommets alongside general supply chain cost increases mean that the TD300 Mesh clocks in at an MSRP $70-80, which is noticeably more than both the NR400 or MB311L launch price, but still less than the TD500 Mesh.

Overall, the Cooler Master MasterBox TD300 Mesh is a nice case, and it manages the same look and feel of the larger TD500 Mesh while being more functional. Thus, while we can't give the MasterBox TD300 Mesh the budget award the MB311L ARGB received, it can be recommended to those looking for an mATX enclosure that looks more extravagant than the NR400 while being a reasonably priced buy.
