Installation

Installing the Corsair H115i RGB Platinum is an easy task. Start by securing the backplate to the motherboard with the proper standoffs.

With the backplate secure, it's time to mount the radiator and fans. I mounted the radiator before the fans to improve cable management as much as possible.

If you plan to use your own thermal paste, you will want to clean the cold plate; otherwise, secure the pump to the motherboard. This process is easier with the new mounting hardware as it slides securely on to the pump housing rather than being a twist-on bracket, which is definitely a huge improvement over the older design.

Finally, with everything installed, connect all the various wires and the Corsair Link cable.

The Hydro Series H115i RGB Platinum is relatively easy to install, and I would rate its installation a 9 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest). My biggest gripe with the previous units has been resolved, making this a perfect cooler for a first-time builder in regards to its ease of installation.
