Corsair is a US-based peripherals and hardware company founded in 1994. It is now one of the leading manufacturers for gaming gear, with a portfolio spanning nearly every component you need: DRAM memory modules, flash SSDs, keyboards, mice, cases, cooling, and much more.

Today we're taking a look at the Corsair MP600 Mini 2 TB, which finally adds a 2 TB option to their "MP600 Mini" M.2 2230 lineup. Its compact dimensions make it an ideal drive for the Valve Steam Deck. Additionally, the MP600 Mini serves as a viable choice for expanding the storage on the ASUS ROG Ally gaming console and various Microsoft Surface Pro devices. The drive is also compatible with other systems requiring the use of an M.2 2242 SSD.

The big selling point of the MP600 Mini is that it uses TLC NAND flash, which is a much faster option than the QLC NAND on some competing M.2 2230 drives such as the MP600 "Core" Mini (review). While Corsair has had the 1 TB model on the market for a while (my review), most gamers really wanted more TLC storage, so Corsair engineered a new drive with 2 TB.

Unlike the MP600 Mini 1 TB, which uses a Phison E21 controller paired with Micron 176-layer 3D TLC NAND, the MP600 Mini 2 TB uses the much newer Phison E27 controller and Toshiba 162-layer TLC NAND. This makes the hardware platform pretty much identical to the MP600 Elite (our review).

The Corsair M600 Mini 2 TB currently sells for $170 with a TBW rating of 1200 TBW. As mentioned before, there's also the 1 TB model with a TBW of 600 TBW, but that uses a different, slower hardware platform. Later this year ("in summer"), Corsair will upgrade the existing 1 TB model to the same Phison E27 controller as on this new 2 TB model. Corsair includes a five-year warranty with the MP600 Mini.
