A Closer Look

The Forza 85 from Cougar is a large single-tower heatsink design that makes use of 56 aluminium fins. These fins receive heat from the base via 6 heat pipes. To allow for better memory compatibility, the heatsink has an offset or asymmetrical design. However, to improve memory compatibility on HEDT systems, the back of the heatsink has some cut-away fins for improved clearance as well.

To force air through the heatsink, Cougar opted to fold the outer edges of the fins down, sealing the open gaps that would normally be there. This essentially forces air through the entire heatsink, improving cooling. As per marketing, Cougar considers this its "Vacuum Tunnel Design."

The top plate, which includes heat pipe caps, is a deeper gray compared to the silver of the aluminium fins. Typically you see white or black or ARGB top plates, so I give them credit for being different here yet remaining with a neutral tone that should fit most build themes. A cutout is also present here to make mounting the cooler easier.

The MHP120 fan is a 120 mm offering with a PWM RPM range of 600 to 2000 with a max CFM of 82.48. It has a metallic reinforced motor hub with a Hydro Dynamic Bearing design.
