Finished Looks
The CRYORIG A40 Ultimate is another black and white AIO. With its color theme neutral, it doesn't stand out in that regard. The small fan on the pump, however, is a different story. It makes the A40 Ultimate look unique as no one else offers that extra bit of cooling for other components. In fact, based on its mounting orientation, users can cool the motherboard VRM, system RAM, or back of the GPU.
While its appearance is generally clean, the airflow fan does seem a bit gimmicky. Removing it doesn't improve appearances much either due to the design that makes it possible. As such, it will be a love-it or hate-it feature. While I do not personally like it, I do give CRYORIG credit for trying something different while everyone else just copies each other.
As with most AIO liquid coolers, clearance is very good. There are no obstructions around the socket to speak of, and as expected, the block and tubing won't get in the way of a graphics card in a mini-ITX system. Overall, CRYORIG's A40 Ultimate is a neat and clean black and white AIO that does just enough different to stand on its own.
