A Closer Look

The dual aluminium fin stacks are both the same size and design. In a checkerboard pattern, the fins feature alternating areas that either stop short or extend further out. To improve the rigidity of the fins, the outside edges are folded down, which also better maintains fin-spacing while directing airflow through the fin stack. In addition, both towers feature cutouts at the bottom for improved memory compatibility. As for fin count, both towers are comprised of 49 fins which are quite dense and contribute to the cooler's rated 260-watt TDP and hefty weight.

With a maximum height of 160 mm, the DeepCool AK620 should fit the majority of today's cases (always double-check). While its size does mean memory compatibility isn't perfect, DeepCool has thought of that and made an effort to mitigate it as best as possible. Overall, while it may just be another dual-tower heavyweight air cooler, the little details and performance on offer without the risk of pump failure on AIO liquid coolers make options like the AK620 more attractive to certain consumers.

Like the fin stack, the top plate has a pattern reminiscent of a checkerboard with the DeepCool logo on the bottom right. You won't find ARGB lighting or anything of the sort here. Instead, just a clean design aesthetic with a tiny touch of the company's teal color that certainly pops. As for the base, it's a solid nickel-plated copper that transfers heat to six 6-mm heat pipes which are evenly spaced throughout the heatsink fins. The base is convex with a very smooth finish. While machining marks are visible, they are only barely so on my sample.

Each fan utilizes a fluid dynamic bearing and has sealed corners, making for a clean look compared to traditional open-corner fans. When it comes to airflow, they can move up to 68.99 CFM and have an RPM range of 500–1850.
