Installation

To install the Assassin IV on an AMD system (AM4 / AM5), you will need to remove the plastic brackets. Then secure the AMD backplate via the four standoffs. Next, secure the mounting brackets to the standoffs.

Now you need to prepare the heatsink by removing the top cover and sliding out the center fan. With that done, you can then apply thermal paste and mount the cooler. Overall it's a very quick and painless process.

The final steps require you to slide the center fan back into place and then reposition the top cover on the heatsink. At this point, all that remains is to plug the two fans into the fan controller if you wish to use it and don't mind the teal light. If you prefer to keep things stealthy, depending on your motherboard, you can plug both fans directly into the CPU fan header.

Overall, the mounting hardware, regardless of the platform, is quite good. It doesn't require a third hand to make the process easier, thanks to DeepCool's attention to detail and simple but strong solution.
