Packaging & Contents

The box Deepcool shipped their Gamer Storm Assassin CPU cooler in is a great deal larger than I expected. It measures roughly 21 cm in length, 15.75 cm in width, and 30 cm in height. This is good news as the large size of the box should allow for exceptional protection of cooler and accessories. Half of a stylized assassin mask in shiny black and dark gray covers the front of the box. Meanwhile, the Gamer Storm logo and Assassin name stand out with a shiny bold and attention-grabbing deep green. The left side has a short paragraph that describes the Assassin cooler and lists a few of its features, including the shark teeth fins and mirror finished base.

The back of the box lists all the specifications and information one would expect. There is nothing out of the ordinary here. The right side is rather plain—there are no descriptions or images other than the Assassin name again prominently displayed in deep green font.

Opening the box reveals neatly stacked cardboard boxed into which everything is packed for exceptional protection. In fact, the packaging reminds me of how Noctua packages their coolers, which is very nice to see. The exceptional packaging shows that Deepcool wants a flawless product to arrive without dents, dings, or scratches, and many enthusiasts can appreciate that sentiment.

The Deepcool Gamer Storm Assassin comes with everything one would expect, including a giant heatsink and a 120 mm and 140 mm fan.

All modern sockets are supported and the mounting hardware for the Gamer Storm Assassin is very simple and straightforward. Universal mounting brackets for AMD and Intel are included. The blackpate is also universal in its design. The small de-vibration buckles (the small black rubber pieces that look like old school magnets) are interesting as well. These keep the backplate screws in place and help reduce vibrations. The fan clips are straight forward, but where others only provide what is needed, Deepcool has included extras that allow the Gamer Storm Assassin to utilize up to three fans.
