Value and Conclusion

  • The Dream Machines DM1 Pro is currently available for $ 49.99 directly from their website.
  • Upgraded sensor is fantastic
  • Cheap
  • Excellent switches, not too soft or too hard
  • Comfortable due to size and weight
  • Sleeved cable allows movement but there is no snagging
  • No driver to install
  • Feels durable
  • Lack of software means you are restricted in terms of tweaking the DPI
  • No way to select LED colors without changing the DPI.
If you read both reviews, you will have noticed that a lot of what I had written stayed the same, which is due to the fact that both mice look very similar, and there really isn't that much more I could write about when it comes to its aesthetics. Alright, this one is glossy compared to the last one that was matte, but that is simply a matter of personal preference as some like gloss and some don't; it doesn't change functionality. The real differences are hidden, can't be seen and can only be felt. The biggest change is the Pixart PMW3360 optical sensor, which is a very good option to go with as it will really appeal to Dream Machines' desired market.

The mouse is comfortable and its tried and tested shape will always stick to peoples' hearts, people who have used this shape for years and will for more to come. The mouse is very light at just 85 g, so if you prefer a heavier mouse, this isn't the one for you. Its glossy coating is actually quite nice as it feels cool to the touch, but does get warm after long periods of use. As a reviewer, it is also a pain to take pictures of.

Again, the lack of software really does cause the only two problems I have with the mouse, which are the inability to customize the DPI to anything other than the presets and not being able to change the color of the LEDs. These drawbacks do reduce the overall score slightly, but it is still an excellent mouse even then. The pricing of the DM1 PRO S is fantastic since you do get one of the best sensors on the market for less than $50 inside a mouse aimed purely at gamers with its tried and tested shape. It is a pleasure to use this mouse, and if I were Zowie, I would be getting worried!
