A Closer Look
If you are curious about what's all here, you'll investigate and see that the CMOS battery is attached via a simple cable, completely wrapped in heatshink tubing that is glued to the LIVA Core's PCB in order to prevent shorting issues. You can easily find the built-in memory chips, two of which are on each side, configured in single-channel mode.
The included Intel-branded M.2 SSD is 120 GB in size (an Intel 535 Series), which is a significant boost to storage both in size and speed when compared to previous ECS LIVA models. You'll get roughly 540 MB/s read speeds with this drive. The Wi-Fi module is hidden under the M.2 SSD.
I also managed to locate some interesting-looking green PCB surfaces in the middle of the circuit board, but I have no idea what they do or what they are for. It looks as though they are mounted to the underside of the SoC substrate.
