EIZO FlexScan EV4340X Review - A Multitasking Powerhouse

Design and Ergonomics

The easiest way to describe the aesthetics of the EIZO FlexScan EV4340X is to compare it to a TV. The massive 42.5-inch panel is flanked by fairly thick bezels, but their 1-centimeter width somehow disappears against the sheer size of the screen. The bottom bezel is 3 centimeters thick, for several reasons: it contains a pair of 4 W speakers, a set of touch-sensitive controls and an ambient light sensor.

The monitor is supported by two metal feet – another similarity to a TV – which hold it firmly in place, but allow for no adjustability of any kind. To give you an idea of how the EIZO FlexScan EV4340X sits on the table, it's worth mentioning that the distance between the table surface and its bottom bezel is 6 centimeters (2.36 in). The top edge of the monitor finds itself 63 centimeters (24.8 in) from the table.

Should you want to adjust the position of the EIZO FlexScan EV4340X in any way, your only option is to mount it to a table or wall mount. The monitor supports all VESA mounts with 100x100 and 200x200 hole spacing. They just need to be able to hold a weight of 15.2 kg, which is the weight of the panel with the metal feet removed.

The supplied remote control is ergonomically solid and very responsive. It gives you full access to the OSD, quick brightness and volume controls, as well as dedicated buttons for accessing power-saving features and Picture-by-Picture modes, input signal switching and audio source switching in PiP and PbP modes. The remote is powered by two AAA batteries.
