Introduction
Endorfy may sound like a new brand but it is in fact the unification of two European mainstays—SilentiumPC and SPC Gear—which have been around for over 15 years now. SPC Gear was dedicated to peripherals, with TechPowerUp having covered some of its mice and headsets before—I've since reviewed
an Endorfy keyboard too. SilentiumPC was more on the PC components side of things, with no doubt an emphasis on silence. Thanks again to Endorfy for providing a review sample to TechPowerUp!
The Endorfy Fluctus is an interesting name because SilentiumPC had
released the Fluctus over three years ago. When doing background research on this fan, the older release was among the first things to pop up. Endorfy was quick to suggest that the fan, as with a few other products, may well result in some branding confusion but that the Fluctus 120 PWM still more than merits a spot in your PC if you prioritize silence without compromising on performance. The Endorfy version has updated anti-vibration rubber pads on the fan corners, so technically it isn't the exact same fan, and yet this is not the latest release either. I wanted to clarify this right away lest the naming lead to further questions. The big thing with the Fluctus is the use of psychoacoustic optimization, with the goal being making these fans sound more pleasant to the human ear than is apparent from standard noise level measurements. Let's put the Fluctus 120 PWM to the test today in this review which begins with a look at the product specifications in the table below.
