Finished Looks

The Enermax ETS-T40 Black Twister definitely looks good when installed. Its solid black appearance looks great when paired with a nice-looking motherboard, and it is definitely a cooler one can build a theme around with ease. If blue and black are not your thing, Enermax also offerts the ETS-T40 White Cluster and the original ETS_T40 with a plain appearance.

Enermax has done well with the ETS-T40 as even the fan's wires are sleeved, which adds to the cooler's already exceptional appearance. That said, improvements could be made as the sleeving does not reach the motor, which leaves small colored bits exposed, but that is a minor grievance at best.

The translucent blue fan blades look a bit out of place on our test system's MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming with its red theme. That said, any build with a blue theme will be a really nice fit for this cooler, especially if LED lighting is something you enjoy.

Overall clearance could be better as the first DIMM slot is blocked off and the cooler encroaches on the first expansion slot. This will pose a problem for systems where the primary PCIe x16 slot is also the first expansion slot. It may also prove troublesome if the PCIe x1 slot is used for a sound card - such users will want to keep that in mind when considering the ETS-T40 Black Twister.
