Darksiders 3
Released: 2018 — API: DirectX 11 — Engine: Unreal Engine 4
Darksiders 3 is the latest entry to the smash-hit hack-and-slash by THQ Nordic. You play as Fury, sister of War and Death, two of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. With its events taking place parallel to those of the other Darksiders stories, you are summoned by the Charred Council to find and defeat the Seven Deadly Sins scattered across the post-apocalyptic Earth, as one of the Watchers accompanies you.
Based on Unreal Engine 4 by Epic, Darksiders 3 takes advantage of DirectX 11 and can be heavily taxing on your machine as the game renders geometrically rich, war-torn landscapes.

Divinity Original Sin II
Released: 2017 — API: DirectX 11 — Engine: Divinity Engine
Divinity Original Sin 2 by Larian Studios is a recent RPG game that's based on an isometric view of the game world like we've seen in many classic role-playing games, most notably Baldur's Gate. The game was received extremely well and is probably the best new release for this genre in a while. You, a sorcerer, are stuck in a world where sorcery is banned, which leads to your capture and eventual escape, as well as you uncovering the truth about the Void, which threatens all life.
While graphics are not as demanding as those of 3D shooters, they are still taxing on modern hardware with support for DirectX 11.
F1 2018
Released: 2018 — API: DirectX 11 — Engine: EGO 4.0
F1 2018 is the tenth iteration of the officially franchised annual Formula One race simulator. It introduces several gameplay improvements over F1 2017, most notably the new streamlined vehicle R&D system, ability to spend development points for the next championship halfway through the current one, a new selection of classic cars, and the introduction of Circuit Paul Ricard, which is part of this year's F1 Championship calendar.
Under the hood, F1 2018 uses a refined version of the EGO Engine 4.0 from Codemasters. The game uses DirectX 11 and can be fairly taxing on your hardware at higher resolutions, in exchange for near-photorealistic visuals.
Far Cry 5
Released: 2018 — API: DirectX 11 — Engine: Dunia
Far Cry 5 takes you to Hope County Montana, and some of the poorest parts of America, where far-right militia run amok and the law-abiding people face a bleak future. You embark on a quest to systematically take down the so-called Project at Eden's Gate militia led by a self-proclaimed messenger of God and his band of three siblings, who each control one of three zones in Hope County specializing in guns, drugs, or religion. The open-world first-person shooter has many interesting call outs to the state of political discourse in America.
Based on the latest iteration of the Dunia engine, the game takes advantage of DirectX 11, but is heavily taxing on the machine to build a realistic rendition of the great American outdoors.
