Introduction
Anyone who has been in the market for a desktop audio source lately, be it for headphones or speakers, has very likely heard of Fosi Audio. The Asian audio brand was established in 2017 and has since been aggressively marketing its high value offerings globally, to the point where I have seen several ads and reviews for Fosi products over the past few months even when I am not in the market for one. I then came across the Fosi Audio booth at the
Shenzhen International Audio Show where representatives from the brand were showcasing an upcoming product that was getting a lot of attention among attendees. Too much attention in fact, as I was unable to find time and an empty spot to try it out for myself. As luck would have it, Fosi Audio reached out to TechPowerUp to see if we would be interested in taking a look at this very product that was being released soon.
Today we take a closer look at the new Fosi Audio K7, not to be confused with
the FiiO K7—the two brands seem to share similar product names! This is a gaming desktop DAC/headphones amplifier with microphone input too, making it more an audio interface that is suitable for gamers to use with standalone headphones and microphones, or even headsets that run off analog outputs. The Fosi Audio K7 is going
the Kickstarter route for its launch, and comes with a feature set that is quite unheard of in this price range. There's a plethora of I/O options to go with oodles of power for even more demanding headphones, and we get independent headphones and microphone volume control too. On top of this, the K7 also has onboard bass and treble EQ to allow for end users to further tune the sound signature of their headphones to their preference. Thanks to Fosi Audio for providing a review sample to TechPowerUp, as we begin with a look at the product specifications via the images below.
