Packaging
The Fractal Design R6 comes packaged in a brown cardboard box with an outline of the chassis on its front, while the rear lists the features alongside a blow-up diagram of the enclosure. You will find a specifications table on one side; the other is just holds another view of the R6 itself.
The case comes sandwiched between two thick Styrofoam spacers. Fractal Design has also placed a large foam layer on the side with the glass panel to protect it during shipping. A plastic bag has been a put over the R6 to keep fingerprints and scratches away as well.
Contents
You will receive an assorted set of black screws, some zip ties, and a cleaning cloth with the chassis. A very detailed manual is also part of this accessories kit, which will come in quite handy when it comes to making the most of the case's features.
Fractal Design will also offer optional extras with the case, and we are fortunate enough to be able to include both of them in our review. Firstly, there is the Flex VRC-25, which allows you to install your GPU vertically in front of the glass window. It comes in at US$40, and availability is slated for January 2018. Then, there is the Connect D1, an I/O panel replacement that includes a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C connector. It will retail for US$30 and will be available in Q1 2018.
