Introduction
I would like to thank
Fractal Design for supplying the review sample.
Fractal is returning to the Era series after over four years. When it launched, the original Era managed to impress with beautiful looks and all custom cooling along with the material mix. However, it was not capable of keeping gaming hardware as cool as most other ITX enclosures out there. With the Era 2, Fractal hopes to build on the learnings from the first generation. The Fractal Design Era 2 is available in three distinct colors: Silver, Midnight Blue and Charcoal Gray. We are reviewing the Era 2 Charcoal Gray.

Packaging
Just like other recent enclosures from Fractal Design, the Era 2 ships in a very plan and minimalist package which only lists the brand and model number on the exterior. A sticker on one side lets you know which color option you are getting. Two additional stickers list the UPC codes and serial number.
The inside of the box sports a Fractal Design pattern to add to the unboxing experience. Two foam spacers hold the case in place, with a foam bag as an added layer of protection. While Fractal Design experimented with more sustainable alternatives for their Terra enclosure, this is no longer the case with the Era 2.
