Initial Setup

The G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 kit fit into my system pretty easily. Using the "standard" height and width we've seen for many years now on past Ripjaws sticks, the metallic red covers should pose no problems to the majority of modern aftermarket heatsinks. After all, most are designed around these staples of height and width to make sure neither becomes an issue with even much larger sticks. With a greater pin count than the past-generation technology, the DDR4 DIMMs fit into the alloted space, with smaller pins that have increased in number.

With its size something that has been around for so long, I was pleased to see the DIMMs fit inside in between the slot clips, so should you want to buy an aftermarket fan for these, it should be simple to install. The heatsink itself wraps around the top, so you get that "Ripjaws" look to go with your memory slots as compared to average DIMMs without any heat spreaders. I really like how the new Ripjaws 4 logo looks with this system as it matches MSI's esthetic perfectly.
