Frametime Analysis
We present a more in-depth analysis than just average FPS to show how the framerate changes over time, which helps highlight FPS drops. Minimum FPS at both the 95th and 99th percentile are reported in these charts, too. A second chart, a histogram, shows shape and spread for the frametime data—how tightly grouped the measurements are. The "IQR" result is called "Interquartile Range," which is an outlier-resistant statistical value that tells us the range in the middle of the frametime distribution.
Doom Eternal uses a highly optimized game engine, which helps computers with weaker processors. It also illustrates that memory latency does matter for AMD CPUs. While high graphical settings does put more work onto the GPU, faster memory in timings and or frequency can provide higher 1% lows since the game isn't quite GPU bound yet.
By raising the resolution to 4K, the gap shrinks and causes both memory kits to be on equal footing. This is because the game is completely GPU-bound, leaving the graphics card last to finish each frame calculation.
