Initial impressions of the BIOS are quite good. As with all motherboards reviews, the BIOS is updated to the newest version available currently (F8a) prior to starting the review process. Upon entering the BIOS the first time you will be greeted with the Easy Mode menu. This menu is designed for casual users, who do not want to dive deep into the BIOS settings. Here you can set the memory profile, drive boot priority and adjust the fans. On the right you can access these options through clickable buttons or use the (F) Hot Keys. Once F2 is pressed, you will enter the main Advanced BIOS. Here we can see the return of the Favorites Menu, which is great for those who are constantly in the BIOS making similar changes. This menu allows you to add commonly used functions into one place without having to dig through all the sub menus each time.
Over at the Tweakers tab is where all the CPU and memory related settings are found. If you're at all familiar with AMD Gigabyte AORUS motherboards, these will be a bit easier to navigate. Many of the CPU functions from previous Ryzen series makes a return. Over in the Tweakers tab is where you'll find a majority of the settings related to CPU, memory overclocking and performance tweaking. A lot of these settings in each tab will be left on auto indefinitely, but for those who like to poke around will find the ability to disable ReSize Bar support, disable spread Spectrum, Load-Line Calibration and even change the PCIe slot link speed, to name a few things.
Overall, Gigabyte has generally a majority of the settings commonly used by PC enthusiasts. If you happen to come across one that is not included, make sure leave a comment and let us know. It would be interesting to hear what functions some are looking for in a motherboard that aren't commonly found or not present on this X670E AORUS Master.
