Hitscan Hyperlight Review

Packaging

Aside from the mouse, one finds a USB Type-A to Type-C charging cable, wireless dongle, two sets of mouse feet (a smaller and a larger one), and quick start guide in the box.

Weight

My scale shows around 40 g (+/- 1 g), which is exactly in line with the weight cited by Hitscan, provided that no feet are installed. For comparison, the similarly-sized and closed-bottom Glorious Series 2 Pro Wireless weighs 55 g, whereas the slightly larger, open-bottom LAMZU Maya weighs 47 g, and the solid-shell, open-bottom G-Wolves HTX 4K weighs 43 g. An excellent weight overall.

Cable

The Hyperlight comes with a braided charging cable (USB Type-A to Type-C). In terms of flexibility, this one is below average, to where playing while charging isn't possible without feeling restricted. Its measured length is 1.55 m.

Feet

The feet on the Hyperlight are non-dyed pure PTFE (Teflon) feet with slightly rounded edges. Glide is excellent and thickness slightly above average. By default, no feet are installed, leaving the choice to the user to install either the smaller or larger set of feet included with the mouse, each of which contains a ring around the sensor, ensuring that CPI stay consistent upon applying vertical pressure.

8K Wireless Dongle

As a separate purchase, Hitscan offers the 8K Wireless Dongle. After pairing the 8K Wireless Dongle with the Hyperlight, polling rates of 2000, 4000, and 8000 Hz will become available. The pairing process is simple: after plugging the dongle in and selecting the pairing tool in the software, the left, right, and middle mouse buttons have to be pressed before then clicking on "pair," alternatively by pressing the space or enter keys. However, only one dongle can ever be paired to the mouse, so after pairing the Hyperlight to the 8K Wireless Dongle, the included dongle will no longer work, and vice versa.
