You may pull the panels covering the four sides of the HYTE Revolt 3 off without the need of any tools. The top panel, however, requires a screwdriver to take off. Underneath the top panel, you will find two 80 mm fan placement possibilities which sit right above the GPU bay. While installing fans here will most certainly help GPU temperatures and thus the system as a whole, small cooling units like that tend to be a bit on the noisy side as well. Nevertheless, it is nice to have the option. The only other aspect to mention in this regard is the GPU length limit of 320 mm with active cooling here.
Looking at the front of the chassis, it is clearly meant for a GPU. In the rear, the top of the Revolt 3 is taken up by a PSU bay intended for SFX or SFX-L units. As we have received the variant with a built-in unit, it is also visible in the pictures.
The main side of the Revolt 3 is intended for CPU cooling. You may opt for an air cooler of up to 140 mm or, better yet, an AIO of up to 280 mm. The fact that the Revolt 3 does not max out at 240 mm is rather unique and a nice touch. On the opposite side, you can clearly see the PSU and and grille sporting the iBuyPower branding. Below that is the cutout for the motherboard, so you can easily access the CPU cooler mounting hardware.
There is a small, solid plate next to the bracket for the cooling, which you may remove. At first it wasn't clear why it was a part of the chassis, but it is there to ensure any connected GPU PCIe power cables don't push against the side panel and pop it off. The cooler-mounting bracket actually swings open to give you easy access to the motherboard area from three sides of the chassis.
You may mount up to two 2.5" drives on the backside of what is essentially the motherboard tray. An opening in the center allows for power and data cables to be routed to them easily as well.
The front GPU bay allows for up to a triple-slot-height GPU with a length of up to 335 mm to be installed. HYTE also mentions 140 mm as the maximum width, which could be important as some graphics cards tend to be quite wide as well. The motherboard position is below the PSU bay with its I/O facing downward. This means the HYTE Revolt 3 does not require a PCIe ribbon cable. Instead, you can simply plug the GPU directly into the board's expansion slot.
Since we received the PSU-equipped version, we went ahead and unscrewed the cover in the back that ensures the bulk of the cables stays away from the GPU area. Once removed, you may unscrew the PSU in the bay and pull it out of the chassis. It is a 700 W 80 Plus Gold unit. All the pre-attached cables of the unit are rather short, catering to the compactness of the Revolt 3. That said, one connector on the PSU is unused, but HYTE unfortunately does not include its cable.
Taking a quick peek at the floor of the HYTE Revolt 3, there is the opening for the motherboard backplate as well as the pre-routed PSU power plug. As the I/O panel is essentially outside the case, all the leads can be found here as well. They are shorter than usual to reduce potential clutter within the chassis.
The cables within the Revolt 3 are all sleeved black. Interestingly enough, HYTE simply routes the USB-C cable to the I/O panel instead of the internal motherboard header, which is a great way to enable this connectivity, especially as many ITX boards don't offer an internal plug unless you splurge on higher-end variants. Audio, however, still uses the classic internal header, so you could use your external plug for a desktop speaker system while your headset connects to the front I/O of the Revolt 3. Lastly, the motherboard header plug is one big connector instead of several individual ones, which makes assembly so much easier as well.
