Packaging

The packaging ID-Cooling went with doesn't really show off the cooler in any real way on the top; instead just showing the pump block. Meanwhile, the left side just has the company name and logo. Thankfully the bottom of the box has a specifications table and mechanical drawings detailing all the information you may be interested in. For example, the overall dimensions, pump RPM, fan RPM range, CFM rating, and bearing type. Additional information, including supported CPU sockets, can be found on this one panel.

Meanwhile, the right side is the same as the left, with just the company name and logo being present. Moving to the front and back, you will find only the product name. Overall the packaging is a bit bland, but at the very least, the text is readable, something I can't say for some coolers with flashy packaging designs that make little sense.

Contents

ID-Cooling apparently knows my weakness quite well, as the Dashflow 240 Black Basic comes encased in foam. While the typical cardboard tray is fine, the foam imparts a more premium feel I wasn't expecting, considering the cooler's entry-level price point, good packaging means the product is more likely to arrive undamaged which is always a plus.

The cooler supports all current and most past mainstream sockets, including Intel's LGA115x, LGA1200, and LGA1700. Meanwhile, on the AMD side, it supports AM4 and AM5. So essentially if you have a system that isn't completely ancient, you are likely good to go. The only semi-modern sockets that are not supported are AMD's HEDT Threadripper sockets, but I wouldn't consider that a negative in this price range.
