The ID-Cooling FROZN A620 PRO SE is undoubtedly excellent value for money. While not the outright best performer, this compact powerhouse competes with larger offerings like the Noctua NH-D15, be quiet! Dark Rock Elite, DeepCool Assassin IV, and others. Its only real competition comes from Thermalright's Phantom Spirit 120 EVO and Peerless Assassin SE120 ARGB in our test suite. Although the two Thermalright coolers offer better performance, ID-Cooling remains the better value option, which is surprising and not what I initially expected. Whether you're on AMD or Intel platforms, this cooler performs exactly as designed, offering great cooling at an exceptionally affordable price.
Even the noise levels were a pleasant surprise. At 25 to 75% PWM settings, the cooler is very quiet, and while it becomes somewhat loud at 100%, the overall noise profile isn't unpleasant. However, the fan design leaves some potential performance untapped. The static pressure is good, but the overall airflow (CFM) is a bit lower, likely limiting its maximum performance and allowing Thermalright to take the performance crown. Still, all things considered, the FROZN A620 PRO SE is a well-balanced option.
Build quality is generally very good, with features like the nickel-plated finish on the heat pipes and base being a nice touch, giving people that impression of high quality. Meanwhile, the simple and easy-to-use mounting hardware is also fantastic. The only real issue I noticed was the uneven top covers on the fin stacks, but that is me nitpicking as it was not noticeable once the cooler was installed. Case compatibility can be great as well with the FROZN A620 PRO SE's height being just 157 mm means it will fit in the majority of cases on the market as long as you stick with standard DIMMs. However, since the front fan overhangs the DIMM slots, you may encounter issues with taller-than-standard memory in both case compatibility and performance, so keep that in mind. Still, overall the design is incredibly simple and effective. While it may be lacking ARGB lighting, which some will view as a positive and others as a negative, its no-frills nature lends it a pleasing, utilitarian aesthetic.
In conclusion, the ID-Cooling FROZN A620 PRO SE is a tremendous achievement in both performance and value, making it easy to recommend. If I had more awards to give, I would—it's just that good for the price.
