A Closer Look

The heatsink design is pretty standard as it is a single tower fin stack with U-shaped heat pipes. Heat dissipation is handled by 45 black coated aluminium fins that feature an X pattern for improved airflow. These fins receive heat via four heatpipes, and the entire tower is offset for improved memory compatibility.

The wiring for the ARGB top-plate runs down through the heatsink, and the top plate covers the ends of the heat pipes and gives the heatsink a nice clean appearance.

A closer look at the top plate shows a simple illuminated pattern with a ring around the outside, which should pair nicely with the ARGB fan. Of course, the entire cooler is black, which should help the ARGB elements stand out even more as they will no doubt be the major focal point for the SE 234 ARGB cooler. As for the base, it is an HDT design and exceptionally smooth, with no major gaps. However, a few smaller ones are visible. Up close, the base felt smooth to the touch, but machining marks are very visible, though it's unlikely to matter in regards to actual performance.

The ARGB fan is ID-Cooling's ID-12025M12B, which is the same fan as on the SE 224 XT ARGB. It spins at 900–2000 RPM and has a maximum airflow of 56.5 CFM.
