A Closer Look - Outside

In Win seems to have a good design team. This is obvious from their previous enclosure offerings as well as their booths at trade shows. The Allure is an "all around chassis" just like the Matrix, which we reviewed here some time ago. In comparison, the Allure is larger, having the dimensions of a traditional mATX chassis. I have to admit, I am impressed by the overall design - including the floral pattern. Some may think that the chassis is a bit bloated, but I for one am under the impression that the round design goes well with a modern girl's dorm room for example. If your girlfriend or daughter likes Placebo or 30 Seconds To Mars, this case may not be for her, but if they have some girl or boy band plastered all over their wall. Thus, the design may not be for everyone, so if you are building the PC for someone else as a surprise, better make sure that the looks will impress before hand.


To keep the overall design of the Allure, In Win has hidden the drive bays behind a door, which rises up when pressed in the center of the lower edge. It seems to employ the same mechanism as found on the B2 chassis, but with a slightly altered, smaller door.


The same mentality extends to the rear of the Allure. It is covered completely to hide any of the unsightly parts, air vents and connectivity. You may remove the entire cover or just the ones necessary. The best case scenario would be to route all cables down behind the cover and out at the bottom edge.


The main side of the Allure has a large vent to allow for cool air to enter the chassis, while the side with the floral design is void of any openings. You will find a few Swarovski crystals on this side. This also means that you do not want to hide this side of the chassis when placing it on or under your desktop.


Taking a closer look at the front of the chasis, we have a black line going up the bottom half of the front. It holds all the LEDs along with a power button and an additional surprise, which we will get into at a later point of this review. The front extends the floral design along with further Swarovski crystals. Under the flip up hood, you will find two 5.25 inch bays along with a pair of 3.5 inch ones.


Turning the Allure over, we have the usual constellation of a mATX chassis under the rear cover. On the bottom are four mainboard expansion slots, while the middle holds an 80 mm fan with fancy green blades. You also have the option of routing a single VGA or serial plug to an opening above the cooling unit. For all of those wondering what the black square is, this one turns out to be the side panel release mechanism. While the Matrix forced you to take the entire case apart quite a bit, the Allure makes it dead simple. To round things up, the power supply bay can be found on the very top at the traditional location.
